How to Prepare for Rep Team Tryouts (2025/2026 Season)

Rep team tryouts are quickly approaching, and we’re excited to welcome both returning athletes and new faces to the court. Whether you're aiming to level up your game or make your first rep team, it's important to come prepared. Here's everything you need to know to make the most of your tryout experience:

  • Register and Pay Online

All tryout fees must be paid online in advance. Please note that we do not accept cash payments at the door. To avoid delays or complications, make sure your registration is complete and payment has been submitted prior to your tryout date.

  • What to Wear and Bring

Come dressed in comfortable, athletic clothing that allows you to move freely. If you have a reversible jersey, we recommend bringing it. Proper basketball shoes are required—no casual footwear or open-toed shoes. Don’t forget to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the session.

  • Prepare Mentally and Physically

Tryouts can be nerve-racking, but the best thing you can do is arrive calm and focused. Confidence goes a long way, so trust in your abilities and training. This is your opportunity to show your work ethic, skills, and love for the game.

Physical conditioning is also key. In the days and weeks leading up to tryouts, focus on building your stamina, endurance, and overall fitness. Incorporate running, agility drills, and strength exercises into your routine to ensure you’re physically ready to compete at a high level.

  • Try to Attend Both Sessions

To give coaches a complete picture of your ability, it is highly encouraged that players attend both tryout sessions. If for any reason you are unable to attend both, please communicate with the coaches in advance. Transparency and respect for the process are always appreciated.

  • Be Patient with Results

Once tryouts are completed, coaches will take time to review and discuss each player's performance. Please be patient during this time. We understand that everyone is eager to hear the results, but thoughtful evaluation is essential to assembling the best possible teams.

  • What Coaches Are Looking For

In addition to skill, coaches are looking for players who bring effort, focus, and a positive attitude. Key traits include:

  • The ability to listen and apply feedback

  • Initiative and leadership on and off the court

  • Good sportsmanship and teamwork

  • A strong work ethic and coachability

  • A genuine love of the game

Have Fun and Enjoy the Experience

At the end of the day, basketball should be fun. Tryouts are a great opportunity to challenge yourself, meet other players, and grow your game. Stay focused, give your best effort, and enjoy the experience.
