A New Basketball Season Begins: Welcome Back, Woodbridge Lions!
Rep practices begin this week, and Fall House League tips off Sunday, September 27!
There’s something special about the start of a new basketball season. The sound of basketballs bouncing in the gym, players reuniting with teammates, new friendships forming, and coaches preparing for another year of growth—it all means one thing: Woodbridge Lions basketball is back!
This week marks the beginning of our 2026/27 Rep Basketball season, with teams returning to the court for their first practices. We’re also excited to welcome our Fall House League players on Sunday, September 27, as we kick off another season of learning, playing, and having fun.
Whether your child is putting on a Woodbridge Lions jersey for the first time or returning for another season, we are thrilled to have your family as part of the Woodbridge Basketball Association community.
Rep Basketball: A New Season, New Goals, and New Opportunities
Our rep teams are officially returning to the gym this week!
After a busy tryout period, our coaches and players are ready to begin preparing for the season ahead. The first few practices are an opportunity for teammates to get to know one another, establish expectations, build team chemistry, and begin working toward their goals.
Throughout the season, our rep players will be challenged to develop their basketball skills, improve their understanding of the game, and grow as teammates and individuals.
But rep basketball is about much more than wins and losses.
It is about learning to show up consistently, working through challenges, supporting teammates, accepting feedback, and understanding that meaningful improvement takes time and effort.
Our coaches are excited to get started, and we look forward to watching every team develop throughout the season.
To our rep players: Come ready to work hard, listen, learn, and support one another. Every practice is an opportunity to become a better player and teammate.
To our rep parents: Thank you for your commitment to your child's basketball journey. Your support, encouragement, and involvement are an important part of what makes our programs possible.
Fall House League Starts Sunday, September 27!
We are equally excited to welcome our youngest and developing athletes to our Fall 2026 House League, beginning Sunday, September 27!
Our seven-week Train + Play program is designed to help children develop their basketball fundamentals while enjoying the game in a positive, supportive, and energetic environment.
Players will have opportunities to improve their dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork, and understanding of basketball through age-appropriate instruction, skill-building activities, and game play.
Whether your child is brand-new to basketball or has played before, our goal is to help every participant feel comfortable, build confidence, make friends, and leave the gym excited to come back the following week.

More Than Basketball: What We Hope Every Player Gains This Season
At Woodbridge Basketball Association, we believe basketball is an opportunity to develop skills that extend far beyond the court.
Throughout the season, we hope every athlete experiences the value of:
Confidence: Believing in themselves, trying new things, and learning from mistakes.
Teamwork: Understanding that success comes from working together, communicating, and supporting others.
Discipline: Showing up, being prepared, listening to coaches, and putting in consistent effort.
Resilience: Learning how to respond to challenges, difficult games, and setbacks with a positive attitude.
Friendship and Community: Building connections with teammates, coaches, and families who share a love for basketball.
Not every player will develop at the same pace, and every basketball journey looks different. What matters most is that our athletes continue learning, growing, and enjoying the game.
A Message to Our Woodbridge Lions Families
As we begin the season, we want to extend a sincere thank-you to all our players, parents, coaches, team managers, and volunteers.
To our returning families, thank you for continuing to place your trust in WBA.
To our new families, welcome to the Woodbridge Lions! We are excited to get to know you and have you become part of our basketball community.
And to our coaches and volunteers, thank you for the time, energy, and dedication you bring to our athletes. Your contributions make a lasting difference in the lives of the young people who enter our gyms.
We cannot wait to see our rep teams back on the court this week and our House League players on Sunday!
